Israel has conducted airstrikes in Gaza for the second consecutive day following the collapse of a weeklong truce with Hamas. The international community had called for an extension of the ceasefire, but those efforts were unsuccessful. The strikes have resulted in the deaths of nearly 200 people, according to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health in Gaza. There are concerns among residents that these bombings may be a precursor to an Israeli ground operation in the southern part of Gaza, which would further restrict their movement and potentially push them into Egypt. The southern areas of Khan Younis and Rafah have been targeted, as many displaced Palestinians have sought shelter there. Witnesses have reported houses being hit and mosques being destroyed in Khan Younis. Tanks have also been seen near the road between Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has led to a death toll surpassing 15,200 in Gaza since it began on October 7, with over 40,000 people injured from Israeli attacks, officials have stated.
