Israeli Army Deletes Post Alleging Hamas Control of Gaza Hospital

The Israeli army recently deleted a social media post claiming that Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital was being used as a control and command centre by Hamas. The post was replaced with a shorter version the next day, but no explanation was given for the deletion. A closer analysis of the edited video shows inconsistencies in the evidence presented, with plastic bags containing bandages and ointments being referred to as ‘hospital equipment’. The presence of a laptop and CDs is also questioned, as the laptop model displayed does not have a CD reader. Television footage from BBC and Fox News reporters reveals further inconsistencies, including altered scenes and differences in the number of AK-47 rifles filmed. The Israeli military denies manipulating the scene at al-Shifa, stating that explosives had to be relocated. These inconsistencies raise serious questions about the alleged changes made to the scene and the Israeli army’s claim of a Hamas command-and-control headquarters within the hospital.

Author’s opinion: The deletion of the original social media post without explanation raises doubts about the credibility of the Israeli army’s claims. The inconsistencies in the video evidence, such as calling bandages and ointments ‘hospital equipment’ and blurred laptops, further undermine the army’s credibility. The altered scenes and differences in the number of weapons filmed also cast doubt on the authenticity of the evidence. The Israeli military’s explanation of relocating explosives raises questions about the scene’s manipulation. Overall, these inconsistencies and the lack of concrete evidence significantly undermine the Israeli army’s allegations.
