Outrage as Lawmaker Slams ‘Satanic’ Christmas Tree- Analysis
A museum in Wisconsin has faced criticism for displaying non-traditional Christmas tree decorations, including one adorned with red pentagrams in homage to Beelzebub, a symbol associated with Satan. The National Railroad Museum’s annual Festival of Trees featured 66 uniquely decorated exhibits, with the Satanic Temple’s contribution drawing significant attention. The tree, which stood out among more traditional displays, featured dark red baubles and an ornament reading “Hail Santa.” State Representative Mike Gallagher, a Republican, expressed his disapproval, describing the decorations as a distortion of basic traditions and cultural propaganda. Another tree that received backlash was the “Gender Diversity Tree,” which displayed pink and blue flags and ornaments advocating for the protection of transgender children. In response to the criticism, the museum’s CEO, Jacqueline Frank, emphasized the importance of inclusivity and making all visitors feel comfortable. The Satanic Temple, which has over 700,000 members worldwide according to NBC News, clarified that it does not worship Satan but views it as a literary representation of rebellion against authority. The group has previously offered to testify on behalf of members seeking gender affirmation procedures.
