Reading Time (200 word/minute): 4 minutes

Prologue

The year is 1347. Europe is in the throes of the Black Death, a plague that will eventually kill half of the population. In the midst of this chaos, a young man named Lain Rafy Beadlacle is on a quest to find the lost treasure of the Templars, a secret order of knights said to possess immense wealth and power.

Lain’s journey takes him to the dark and dangerous corners of the world, where he confronts not only the plague but also the Templars’ enemies, who will stop at nothing to prevent him from finding the treasure. Along the way, Lain must also grapple with his own inner demons, as he struggles to come to terms with the horrors he is witnessing.

Chapter 1: The Summons

Lain was sitting in his small, cramped apartment, reading a book on the Templars. He had always been fascinated by the order, their mysterious rituals and their legendary treasure. He had spent years researching them, and he was convinced that he had finally cracked the code to finding their lost riches.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. Lain opened it to find a tall, hooded figure standing before him. The figure held out a scroll, and Lain took it from him. The scroll was written in an ancient language that Lain could not decipher, but he could sense that it was important.

“You have been summoned,” the figure said in a deep, gravelly voice. “Your quest begins now.”

With that, the figure turned and walked away. Lain stood there for a moment, stunned. He had no idea what was going on, but he knew that he had to follow the figure’s instructions. He quickly gathered his things and set off on his journey.

Chapter 2: The Journey Begins

Lain’s journey took him to all corners of the world. He visited ancient ruins, explored hidden caves, and even descended into the depths of the earth. He was always on the lookout for clues, and he never gave up hope of finding the Templars’ treasure.

Along the way, Lain encountered many strange and dangerous creatures. He fought off wolves in the forests, escaped from quicksand in the swamps, and even survived an encounter with a dragon. But nothing could prepare him for what he was about to face.

Chapter 3: The Plague

Lain finally reached his destination, a hidden city deep within the mountains. He was exhausted and weary, but he was also excited. He knew that the Templars’ treasure was hidden somewhere in this city.

As Lain explored the city, he began to notice something strange. There were no people anywhere. The streets were deserted, and the buildings were dark and silent. It was as if the entire city had been abandoned.

Just then, Lain heard a cough. He turned to see a man lying on the ground, his face pale and sickly. The man was coughing up blood, and his eyes were filled with terror.

Lain knew what was happening. The man had the plague.

Lain rushed to the man’s side, but it was too late. The man was already dead.

Lain was horrified. He had never seen anything like this before. He didn’t know what to do.

Just then, he heard a voice behind him.

“Welcome to the end of the world,” the voice said.

Lain turned to see a tall, hooded figure standing before him. It was the same figure who had summoned him.

“Who are you?” Lain asked.

“I am the one who has been waiting for you,” the figure said. “I am the one who will guide you to the Templars’ treasure.”

Lain was hesitant, but he had no choice. He followed the figure into the depths of the city.

Chapter 4: The Treasure

The figure led Lain to a hidden chamber deep within the city. The chamber was filled with gold and jewels, the Templars’ treasure.

“This is what you have been looking for,” the figure said.

Lain was speechless. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He had finally found it.

But just as Lain was about to reach out and touch the treasure, the figure raised his hand.

“Not so fast,” the figure said. “There is a price to pay.

Lain was confused. What price?

“The price of knowledge,” the figure said. “The price of understanding the truth.

Lain was still confused. What truth?

“The truth about the Templars,” the figure said. “The truth about their power. The truth about their curse.

Lain was silent. He didn’t know what to say.

“The Templars were not the noble knights they were made out to be,” the figure said. “They were a corrupt order, obsessed with power. They were responsible for the plague.
